Aisha Khorana, M.Ed., PLPC

Ph.D. Student | Therapist | Mental Health Advocate

My name is Aisha Khorana (she/her). I am a fourth-year Ph.D. student in Counselor Education and Supervision at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, a certified K-12 school counselor, and a practicing mental health therapist in Missouri.

Counseling

I work with individuals aged 5-60 and have a special interest in young adults. I commonly work with clients seeking support for challenges with anxiety, depression, body image, disordered eating, self-esteem, bicultural identity, and belonging. My lens is integrative and incorporates a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed approach.

Speaking

I am a regular speaker for several nonprofit organizations and have experience independently teaching university-level counseling courses. My outreach and advocacy are aimed at destigmatizing the conversation around mental health in South Asian communities, providing mental health education nationwide, and collaborating to provide ongoing resources, trauma-informed education, and support.

Research

As a Ph.D. student, my research focuses on adverse childhood experiences, self-compassion interventions, and bicultural identity development. I have published my work and have presented my findings at regional and national conferences with the goal of contributing to research that supports marginalized communities.

In each of the roles I hold, my passion is facilitating conversations rooted in safety, openness, and connection. I am a firm believer in the philosophy that we heal in community through being witnessed and supported. No matter how you found my page, I am so grateful that you are here, and I would be honored to support you in any way that I can.
