About Me

Meet Aisha Khorana, M.Ed., PLPC

hello!

My name is Aisha Khorana. I am a Pre-Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri, and a fourth-year Ph.D. student in Counselor Education and Supervision at the University of Missouri - St. Louis. I hold credentials as a certified school counselor, with experience at the K-12 level.

Who I Work With

As a current mental health counselor, I support those aged 5-60. I specialize in supporting individuals experiencing concerns related to anxiety, depression, body image, disordered eating, self-esteem, self-compassion, bicultural identity, and belonging.

My Philosophy

I am passionate about group therapy and community speaking, as I am a firm believer in the philosophy that we heal in community through being witnessed and supported.

In any space that I enter, whether it be through speaking, research, or counseling, I believe that everyone deserves a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore the parts of themselves they often keep hidden, and to feel supported as they work toward greater self-understanding, confidence, and well-being.

My Goals

In speaking engagements, I facilitate spaces that foster safety, connection, creativity, healing, and hope. These are pillars that are foundational to my work, supported by psychoeducation and decreasing the stigma in seeking mental health care.

As a counselor, my goal is to help clients slow down, reflect, and make sense of what might be happening beneath the surface. Goals are always collaborative and supported by awareness and intervention. Through this work, therapy can become a space for healing, growth, and empowerment.

My Clinical Approach

My approach to therapy is collaborative and individualized. In my clinical work, I integrate elements of Relational-Cultural Theory (RCT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), grounded in a trauma-informed, person-centered approach.

This combination of modalities allows space for connection and deeper exploration of experiences and cultural contexts that have shaped you. Moreover, I have experience utilizing various other modalities and expressive arts techniques that can be integrated as we see fit.

Together, we will discuss what matters most to you with patience and curiosity, moving towards healing at a pace that feels supportive and comfortable.

Outside of the Office:

Outside of the office, you can find me spending time with family and friends, crafting, enjoying live music, doing photography, or studying in a cute coffee shop.

I am so grateful to be in a career where I have the chance to support others and destigmatize mental health care. Life is a journey filled with mountains and valleys, and it is fundamentally human to need support; no one should ever be expected to navigate life alone. As a counselor and speaker, being trusted with personal stories and witnessing healing is truly my greatest honor.

Reaching out for support takes courage, and I would love to help support you in any way that I can. If you have questions, inquiries, or would like to request a free consultation, please fill out the contact form below!
